Clients should be aware that in the period where a candidate is weighing up the pros and cons of joining a new employer, he/she is likely to express queries more openly to the consultant than to the client. Good consultants are experienced negotiators and clients should use the consultant to discuss a proposed offer with the successful candidate before sending the offer letter. This ensures queries are dealt with and that all goes smoothly.
CONTINUITY - The consultant should keep in touch with the progress of the newly appointed candidate on an on-going basis and if possible aid his/her performance. Naturally this aspect of a consultant's work can only be successful if endorsed by the client.
